Mean

Mean, by Myriam Gurba

Delicious prose; Gurba knows how to turn a phrase in a way that is shocking, surprising, witty, sharp as a razor.

Gurba's own website's description of MEAN says it's a 'true crime memoir' which is maybe not how I would describe it but also sort of, weirdly, works. It's exactly as brutal as that suggests, in a way I wasn't quite expecting.
