I'm a grumpy old crone with no patience for YA, but this book is pretty good. It's vivid, has a neat love triangle and an interesting relationship with the supernatural. I read Trail of Lightning for a book group and really loved the discussion even if I didn't connect much with the book--my lukewarm feelings are probably more to do with me than the book itself! I'm planning to read Roanhorse's more recent book, BLACK SUN, and I suspect that'll be more up my alley.
